Cincinnati Toolmaster 1B is the only Toolmaster with a collet spindle. Unless somebody pieced something together, or there's something I don't know. You might have a buggered thread or some debris. Not sure there is an easy way out. Might try to keep blasting it penetrant, and working it back and forth.

i'm a toolmaster guy . the NT-40 1-D is a great mill . the 1-c is a real cinci gearhead, but not a bpt type machine . slow rpms. for quick drilling setups - a bridgeport is more agile . but r8 spindles can't mill like a 40 taper. my 1-D will outhog my Haas VF-3 all day long. it can run a 1" endmill in steel with no complaints.

My 1D Toolmaster is a 1965 model. It looks similar to yours with the "squarish" overarm. The spindle start left/start right/off handle is more modern than mine, so yours could well be a 1966 ot later machine. I believe that Cincinnati redesigned the Toolmaster and began building that version in France about 1972.

I have recently bought a Cincinnati Toolmaster Milling machine - the late type angular style model, type TM66DD and I was wondering if anyone has the manuals for it. I will look tomorrow when I go there to clean up the mill and get some of the surface rust cleaned off. The ways on the table and knee look good condition just a lot of surface rust. I was able to find two of the tee bolts, they are 5/8" x 4" with a rectangular head. I bought the mill, and a 1920s marvel 8 band saw for $500.
